I also just bought my 1st Plug-in for Photoshop. Its Silver Efex Pro 2 from Nik Software. Its a plug-in that converts images to black & white in a very intuitive and effective way. It sure is giving me better results than just using Photoshop.
I’ve been neglecting this blog for a long time but I’m going to be posting some new work which I shot myself. I didn’t want to keep downloading photos to practice on so I started doing photography again.
Haven’t touched this pic in a while. I didn’t do much to this but a little more work on the blood. I did this a while ago but am just posting it now.
So this is my work in progress. I’m just beginning. This is about 2 or 3 hours of work. I’m working on making the blood look Horror Real. Not happy with the blood yet.
Funny thing is that I set out to make a fashion/glamour type of retouch and somehow ended up with this. Its a happy accident from experimenting with the new Photoshop.
I just got Adobe Photoshop CS5. So I decided to try it out with this photo of Adrianne Curry that I downloaded.
I chose this because its just a regular pic that anyone can make.
I liked the way this came out. I wanted to make it dramatic and to focus on the pink.
Another photo of Jessica Alba that I downloaded.
The finished result came after many revisions.
What I like most is that it looks like the photo was taken in a studio, when in fact it was in a hotel. Behind the chair is a post that goes from the floor to the ceiling. You can see a little bit of the background in the lower right section of the original photo.
This is a photo which I retouched as a job. It was for a lady who is a Minister and a Musician.
The results are less obvious. Her eyes however do stand out. I know it doesn’t look natural, but I love playing with the eyes.
Here is one of Fergie that I wanted to retouch.
Everything that I’m posting so far, I’ve used Adobe Photoshop CS3 Extended. Also I’m not using any plug-ins.
I want to avoid using plug-ins as much as possible for now. That way I can truly get a grasp on Photoshop.
I figure I’ll be better off in the long run if I know how to create something on my own.
This is my Work in Progress of the retouching that I’m doing on the Billy the Kid Portrait.
This is particularly difficult for me cause it involves many techniques. In addition I am just using I guess my imagination to recreate certain parts that are far gone.
One thing that I do like about this, is how much of his face I was able to save.
Here is a Famous Portrait of “Billy the Kid” that I downloaded to retouch. Its over 100 years old and has lots of damage.
